OOOOO.. the culprit !

Ended up FINALLYYY watching usual suspects last evening .. i know ,for a movie freak like me , its strange how i havent seen some really critically acclaimed movies..this post isnt a movie review..sometime back a cousin of mine (who has this habit of telling unsuspecting people endings of movies let me and several others in on the "twist in the tale" .. We tried to block out what he was saying by stuffing our ears with our fingers and making guttural, nasal noises to drown out his monologue..The clever bugger suddenly stopped talking , so we assumed that he was done with his atyachaar..how naive we were !!! .. we stopped droning.. all of us pull out our fingers as well and .. voila! the bugger tells us "who actually dun it" .. The point of me telling you all this is that .. its really weird seeing a movie when the spoilers have already been floated around.. You start giving special meaning to every dialogue and glance that the " culprit" sends your way .. and with this movie , it was even more confusing cos it zips in and out between the past and present ..so finally after 1 1/2 hours, i decided that there was no fun in watching it cos i already knew what was gonna happen.. Its like reading the last page of a novel and trying to work backwards .. i must try that sometime ..

lol! Men can be such jerks. Here i am conveniently forgetting that even I've done this quite a many times ;) you know i need to know the story before going in for a movie. Sometimes i even wiki the plot before entering the theater. He he he. I saw The Proposal last week. Lovely, Predictable movie it is.

Ditto yaar ! Except I saw the ending first as I chanced upon the movie at the fag end. I have tried seeing it from the first scene and just could not connect. Anyhow the story is too complicated to peice together.

The movie Choclate starring Anil Kapoor and Ifran Khan was based on this, but was more fun.

I am SO with you on this post. I cannot stand to be told the ending of a movie, whether it's a whodunnit or not. I used to work with a woman who I love in every way, except she almost impulsively couldn't help but tell me the ending of whatever movie she had just seen. It drove me nuts! I don't even like it when someone says, "Oh, that movie was so sad at the end." Of course, someone's going to die then, right?

Cheers,

SLC

Don't want to be a spoilsport but thrillers can be either 'whodunnit' or 'heist' or can be told from the criminal's point of view too or a mix of both.
Bad for you to miss the charm of watching Usual Suspects for the first time w/o knowing the end. However Usual Suspect is a masterpiece in gangster genre w/o any comparison. You will agree if you have seen Heat, The Score and the likes.
Have you watched ' Public Enemy ' yet ?

I hate these spoiler givers too.. I therefore like being alone when watching a movie.

Must catch 'The Usual Suspects' again though.
